Could a fella put his own Rainguard on any scope? Like the stuff that's made for car windshields? I'm not sure what Bushnell uses...I would think it's just some kind of wax maybe. Anybody ever try it? Thanks.

I haven't but seems i have read your not suppose to use rainx on scopes or binos somewhere......I'll do so digging if nobody else chimes in.  Difference is that Bushnells Rainguard is an actualy lens coating where Rain-x is a wax type film almost.  May make the view cloudy?  You could always try it and take it off with alcohol if needed.

There is a warning label on Rain-X about using it on coated optics as it will damage the coatings.
