I was going to load up a few 100 308's last night. I powdered up 50 and went to the seating die. I made sure everything was right .I went to seat the berger and the bullet stuck in the seater cup. I took the die apart and gave it another try. same thing. I thought that the shape of the berger might be what’s the problem with the die. so I tried a nosler AB and a hornaday SST and the same thing happened it stuck in the seater cup. I was baffled. I poured the powder out and popped out the primer and FL sized the case reseated the primer dumped the powder back into the case and went to seat the lead and the same thing happened again the bullet stuck.

Has this ever happened to you? This wasn't the first time this die was used. I have loaded 100 or so with it. It’s a RCBS.

Any tips would be nice.

yes this is common, with a lot of dies, the cups are designed for the more blunt and round tip of spitzer hunting bullets. Take a dremel with a carbide tip and open up the bevel on the cup to accomadate the tip of the more "pointed" target bullets.  A-max and V-max usually give the biggest problems, if not by sticking they get a crush ring just below the tip in the cup isn't contoured,

should add -- also sometimes better to get a competition seating die with the appropriate cup shapes.

I don't get stickers but I'll bet that's why I get a faint ring around the upper part of the A-max's out of mine. I'll have to try that dremel trick, Thanks Dale!!!
Good info, even if I didn't ask the question!
