What do you guys do about scratches on binocular lenses? I found a scratch on one of my ocular lenses. I can't see it when I look through the binoculars but I can see it when looking at the lens. Even though it doesn't appear to affect the optics, its hard not to get a little sick about it.

I have a Burris 10x50 Full Field binocular that had serious scratches on the left rear eyepiece lens, but, they were only visible when you looked at the lens with a flashlight.

I sent mine back to Burris and they polished the scratches out of the lens free of charge.

Yea...these are Vortex Razors and I called to check out my options. They told me that if it is indeed scratched, they can not do anything about it. If they are faint scratches, they can probably polish them out, but if I can feel it when I run my fingernail over it, they probably cant do anything short of replacing the lens. I'm going to take them out and look through them to see if I really cant see it. If I just can't get past it, I may just send them in to see if there is anything they can do. Arg...it's just upsetting, and I'm pretty sure I'm the one that did it.

I was curious about the warranty coverage so I took a look at it. The only conclusion that I can arrive at, after reading it, and your above comments, is that scratches must fall under the "deliberate damage" disclaimer.

I find that difficult to accept. I'm wondering what the other Vortex Razor owners think about this part of the warranty.

They told me over the phone I could send them in and they could see what they could do. I haven't sent them in though.
