My stupid self scratched my scope trying to get my scope rings off.  I must need to invest in a torque wrench since i obviously over tighten.  I basically had the rear scope ring have a screw on each side that i couldn't get out.  I put a hair dryer to it to heat it up and after breaking 5 t10 torx bits i ended up getting frustrated and took a drill bit to the screw.  Long story short i ended up getting one side completely unscrewed and essentially pryed the rings apart to get my scope out.  In doing so i scratched the scope in a few spots in between the eyepiece and the turrets.  It probably sounds worse than what it is as i was very gentle on the scope itself.  My question is, would using a blow dryer to apply heat cause any sort of problems that i should send it in to have the scope checked?  Would they be able to repair the scratches so its back to longing essentially new?  Any ideas on what something like this would cost for the repairs?

Thanks!

I Doubt the hair dryer done any damage to the scope.  +1 on the sharpie.

+2 on the sharpie. Re-mount and range certify correct operation.
