I found a like new LTR for a great price locally so I jumped on it.  It's my first rifle, but, I've done a lot of research while patiently waiting for the right Remington to pop up.

Most of my shooting will be done at 100yds because that's the max at my local range.

Here are the scopes I'm considering:

Millet TRS-1 4-16X50

Super Sniper 10X42

Mueller 4-16X50 Tactical

Bushnell Elite 3200 5-15X50

Falcon Menace 4.5-18X56

Falcon Menace 4-14 FFP

I know most are more than I'll need at 100yds but I'd like to reach out to greater distances if/when I get the chance.

With most of these scopes I would be into the package for less than $1000, including the rifle(which comes with Leupold base), Burris Xtreme rings and Harris bipod.

Welcome to Optics Talk!!

Great rifle, the LTR. It should serve you well.

10x Super Sniper.

I've had well over 20 different scopes and optics on my Remington .308 and I always go back to the 10x SS.
I love the simplicity, the reliability, and the toughness for that scope.

IF you should ever wish to sell it, you will get close to retail price back out of it even though it's used. Not sure the other scopes you listed could make that claim.

My only regret with buying my Super Sniper was that I didn't buy it sooner.  Wink

Super Sniper.

The others are decent scopes, some with more "bells n' whistles", none are optically better.

Okay, so I walked into a GREAT deal on a Bushnell 4200 6-24 X 50 yesterday and I couldn't help myself.

Now, I want to pick up some Burris Xtreme rings, but I'm unclear which height to buy, medium or high.  Does anyone have this scope + these mounts?

Also, which size Butler Creeks for the Bushnell?

I'm ichin' to shoot my rifle so I'd like to get everything purchased and shipped asap so I can piece it all together for next weekend.
