I have a Nikon Buckmaster 4.5x14xcan't remember that I like a lot...but I didn't pay retail for it.  The glass is quite good for the price, and I like it better than the 2 Burris Fullfield II scopes I had.  I'll assume the more expensive Nikons are even better than the Buckmaster, so they should be pretty good.

I shot a few rounds through my buddy's rifle that had a Bushnell 4200 Elite...very nice scope, but more expensive than the Buckmaster by about $200.

I sold one of the Burris scopes I had...couldn't get it to zero on a standard flat top AR...ran out of elevation at 100 yards!!.

I never did figure our why, 'cos every other brand of scope I've tried on an AR would zero fine.  The glass on the Fullfield IIs is okay, but I rate the Nikon a little better. I looked through a  Black Diamond at the range one day...that was very nice, but a whole lot more money than I could spend at the time.

Honestly, the best scope I have now is the Grand Slam I got as a result of a nice chat I had with someone at SWFA, who talked me out of a Leupold.  The glass is bright and clear, the clicks are precises, and it's got a quick focus eyepiece...a feature that I really like.  I put it on a Savage model 12BVSS, and it did 1/2" once I got it sighted in.  That gun is a tack driver, and it's a pleasure to shoot with the Grand Slam on it.

There are quite a few scopes in each manufacturer's lineup, so you really need to compare them by the cost/features.
