the standard 10X, 16X or 20X will all handle the 50 with ease

You want to shoot $8.00 per bullet but want a $200 dollar scope? Seems a bit silly. The original S.S. will handle a .50, but the H.D.model would be better for longer shots. Remember quality trumps magnification.

Ted do yourself a favor go ahead and get the 10 x SS standard. It is a great scope. No it does not have the glass that the higher price scopes have, but for the money you will have a reliable scope with decent glass that will stand up to your 50 cal. They also hold their value very well if in the future you decide you want to step up in glass quality.

I have a 16 x and it does well for me as far as quality of glass. Sometimes I wish I had the 10x when mirage is bad. It could be a good option for you. I think you sight picture would prob be better all around with the 10 x.

Have fun and enjoy your 50 cal.

Ted_Nugent007,

Much better choice that the Vulcan.

My Grizzly has a tasco world class 6-24 (I know - it was a throwaway scope until I found something that I wanted), well it is still on the rfile and going strong - going to keep it untill if fails.

Another Tasco WC success story.  I might have to get one. Wink

Nuge,

The SS10x glass ain't bad, and you should be able to engage targets way out there with it.

My friend has one of those rifles, seems to like the 660gr better than the 750's....darn thing is huge, it barley sits in the safe, even after removing the butt pad.  Recoil is pleasant, but I hope you have a shooting mat for prone otherwise you will be picking dirt, mud, pine needles etc. out of everywhere.  Happy shooting.

Mine shoots the 750s best. But the 690APs are not far behind. And if you can find one get the APA bi-pod. It is much more stable than the Prince bi-pod.
