Hi All

I’m looking for some advice on what scope and what magnification I should buy to put on a Howa Talon .300 win.

I will be using it for dogs and pigs out to about 700m mainly dusk and dawn.

I’m happy to spend around $1000 and if I really need to out to $1500.

Any help would be very much appreciated.

SS 5-20, illuminated.  Will have enough elevation adjustment for you, turrets to dial in your shots, built like a tank, and the best glass you can buy for that kind of money.

Thank you for the fast response.
i have been looking around every where today but none of the gun shops around me can get the SWFA scopes in.
I probably should have written i am in Australia and our gun laws are crazy over the top- its like we're a country that was populated by convicts.
have you had any experiance with this scope?
the other one that was recomended to me by the local gun shop today was a Swarovski Z3 3-10x42 but i think that the zoom might be a little low for 700m targets, please let me know what you think.

Hi Guys

Don't worry, I walked into the gun shop today and there sitting on the shelf was a 2nd hand NightForce 5.5-22x50 Scope. so i bought it.
i would like to thank stickbow46 and SVT_ Tactical for their suggestions, it is very unfortunate that we are unable to get SWFA Scopes in my country.

Agreed,  didn't catch the different country as your profile isn't filled out.  The NF will serve you well.
