Just bought a Steyr SSG 69 and looking for a scope in $1000 range. trying to stay as compact and lightweight as possible. Considering SS 10X HD. any suggestions?

I would prefer to go with the SS 5-20x50 but I have also had the 10x HD and it is a nice scope.

If you are going for lightweight a fixed power scope is not a bad idea.

That having been said, the 3-15x42 is only 4 ounces lighter and a lot more versatile.

I'd second the nod to the SS 3-15.  If you'd like more top end and can give up on the low end the SS 5-20 is an excellent scope.  Depending on the application for the rifle both are excellent products from SWFA at great prices. 
 
My 308 wears a SS 3-9 and I love it, might eventually switch to the 3-15 but I don't want to mess with what ain't broke so to speak.

i I have a 5-20hd, 3-15ss and wanting something different, 10x hd or maybe german optic. Nice Leicas on Samplelist
