Hi all, I just purchased a SA M1A Socom II rifle and plan to use it to night hunt for wild pigs here in SC from a tree-stand with ranges most probably between 50-100yds.

The gun I have does not have the full length top rail(i've seen some that do) so I'm thinking about some kind of cantilever scope mount and a low-medium magnification scope w/good night time light gathering ability. Also, with all the rail space provided on the gun, I'd like to add some type of mounted light(surefire maybe) but I don't know much about what would be best.

If anyone has a setup like I'm looking to build, please give some recommendations if you have em! And, any advice on a good light will be gladly accepted. Thanks!

I was just checking out the Eotech EXPS3 system. Looks like a pretty cool setup that I could use on the SOCOM as well as my CAR15 if I wanted too.
Do you guys think 3x magnification would be enough?
