Just mounted a nikon monarch to my 7mm mag, i was already yo go and shoot it today when i noticed a rattle coming from the torrents on the scope. i didnt notice this before i mounted the gun and all the mounts seem tight. i thought maybe it was the silver set screw on them - but it wasnt.. i am going to take it back to the gander mountain and have the gunsmith look at it - just wandering if anyone could possible tell me what to look for or waht it might be? only had to move the sight a few clicks when bore sighting - so i know i didnt over turn anything... i have no clue - just wondering if anyone could help

 thanks

Ah the special new model with the built in rattle and deer call.  No but taking it back is probably a good idea.  Its hard to guess this over the internet.  Good luck with your rifle.

Be certain that it isn't your sling swivels or something like that, but if the rattle is in the scope, it should be returned, as Wes noted.

The only piece of optical equipment that should rattle when you shake it is a Kaleidoscope!

This is pretty basic but...did you turn the turrets by hand?  A screwdriver or quarter turning the turrets to sight in could loosen the knob.  I doubt that's it but if you're used to the old friction turrets it could happen.  If the turrets are tight I'd send it off and hope for the best from Nikon's C.S. Shocked
