I am looking to get new rings for my Tikka T3 lite.  I am considering the Wauren rings.  Would I need low, medium, or high for a 40mm scope on the Tikka?  A lot of people trash the factory rings...are they that bad?

Also looking to get butler scope covers.  Does anyone know which ones I need for the Nikon Monarch UCC 3x9 40mm?

Thanks in advance for any help!!

I have used Talley and Warne on my T3s, the Talleys are a little easier to mount.  Both are much, much better than the crap rings that come with the rifle.

For your scope my BC chart shows  #14 eye   #27 objective.

I haven't had any dealings with the T3 rings but like you have read where many don't like them.  Myself I'd go with 1pc Talley's. If you'll contact SWFA and tell them what your set up is they'll fix you up with the correct one's.

Do you have a link for the Talley 1 piece?  I am thinking it is the base and rings milled from one piece.  Is that correct?  Thanks for your suggestion!!

I think I search and found my answer.  The "1" piece is a single base instead of 2 piece base.  Talley looks to be quite expensive....is it worth the extra $ over the Warne rings?

I have had the factory rings on my tikka for 5 yrs. now with no problems of any kind, but with that said, If I do replace them, it will be with talley's.

They're not when you consider, you are purchasing the rings AND bases together for the price.

The only bad thing i can say about the factory rings, is they leave marks on your scope.
The Optilock is probably the best ( most expensive ) you can get.

I have had really good performance out of the Warne Rings on Weaver style mounts.  I have no experience with the Tikka version, but would not hesitate to try them!  Get the Warne "torque" wrench and you'll be set!

I used the DNZ mount on my T3.  I have Talley on my Browning.  I wouldn't hesitate using either rings.

I have two T3s. I've tried Warne, Burris XTR (six screw), Optilock, etc. I've since gone back to the Tikka rings. Lighter weight and no problems. A lot of ring issues can be traced back to improper use. A hard kicking round with a heavy scope may call for more robust rings, but I've had great luck with factory rings, standard rounds and <15oz scopes.

My main reason for using Warne rings is the torque wrench.... no more guessing how tight to turn the screws.. The Wrench knows!!!

Can't you use the Warne torque wrench with other rings/mounts?

as long as they are the same head.  You'd be better off with a torque wrench set.

Yes, but only if the manufacture suggests the same amount of torgue!  With Warne I don't have to worry about any of that.  As a bonus, I think they are very good rings as well!
