That is an outstanding video. That S&B sure takes a beating. The objective and ocular lense housings really move, yet the main tube between the rings is relatively rigid. I'm still not going to catch that SVD S&B virus, though. Way too expensive right now. |

Interesting video. However, if you watched videos from much less powerful rifles, you would probably see the same effect, but on a much less grand scale. Gradations of flex is common in rifle scopes and accuracy is not usually affected, unless the erector assembly is affected and point of zero is therefore affected. Of course the fundamental frequency of resonance would depend on the length of the scope, hinge points, energy of recoil, stiffness of the scope tube, mounting set-up (especially as how the scope is mounted and how energy is transferred) , etc. Fortunately, the usual dampening of scope mounting, prevents excessive resonance to occur, affecting accuracy. Nevertheless, interesting video.
