I just bought a new Ziess scope the other day.  Put it on the same mount and rings that my nikon was on.  Both have 50MM lenses but the Ziess can't be bore sighted with the mounts i have.  Any suggestions on what to do with this problem?  New mounts?

Why cannot the Zeiss be bore sighted with the same mounts and rings.  I have heard that you cannot see the reticle move with adjuments in the elevation and windage which must have to do with the first plane of the of the reticle in the scope line like most euro scopes.  I have never owned a Euro scope and never will, but what does the manual say about bore sighting.  I cannot imagine the mounts and rings having any thing to do with boresighting, unless they are cheap.  Otherwise, I would pull the bolt, look down the bore at a 25 yard target, see where the scope lines up and make adjuments based on moa at 25 yards and that should get you there.  Good luck.

This is simple

European scopes have less movements than asian ones.

So the mount are simply not pointing the same way as the bore, probably due to the old obvius problems with non true actions.

This is a common problem and has to be solved with machining on the mounts or adjustable mounts.
