I have a savage bolt action .17 hmr which came with weaver scope mounts and a generic scope. I bought a BSA sweet .17 hmr scope. The bsa scope is about a quarter inch too short to fit in the scope mount rings properly.. Is there a scope mount I can buy that will compensate for the scope length, or do I have to send the scope back for a refund?

You should be able to find different bases (try several manufacturers) that have multiple slot bases  or ones cut off-center that can be reversed to make the mounting distance usable. They just need to state that they will fit on the Savage model # ... (93 17 OR whatever model yours is). Check Leupold, Burris, DNZ and Warne mounts off the mounts, rings and bases product category bar on the left side of the SWFA home page.

Looks like EGW may have a picatinny ( 0 moa built in) rail to fit. Apparently there are two different ejection port sizes...1 3/8 and 1 5/8. Yours is likely the 1 5/8 but I'd measure to be sure.

Thank you, doing a bit of research I found that others have found the scope to short to fit their scope rings. I am leaning on sending it back if I don't find something...
