I’m looking for a scope for my Steyr SSG 69 and am considering the SWFA SS 10x40 and the Millett TRS-2 10x50.  The Millett appears to offer more bang for the buck.  Any input will be appreciated.   Thanks!

I have a 10x SS, and it is a great scope, and one of the greatest values out there.  My adjustments are spot on, and I have spun those turrets a lot.  The glass is nice, and the build is ridiculous.  I have not seen that Millet scope, but have seen some other Millet models, and they have left me flat.

If illumination is required the Millet fits the bill, but I am confident you would be happy with the SS.

Reliability is virtually never in question with the SS.  The only Millet I've looked at with IR, IR was too "brilliant" for low light, dark shooting.  Would wash out the scope.  Visibility was better without it.  One sample is not good for "statistical significance", but...  Millet usability is generally binary...  However, I have not picked one up in a couple of years.  My information could be dated...
I know a couple of people with Millet scopes, shooting 5.56, who are happy with them for their use... range and varmints, daylight shooting.

Once again, SS has a long history of dependability...
