I'm about to buy a quality .22 rifle, either a Kimber or a Cooper, and need scope recommendations.  Shots will be 10 to 100 yards, mostly below 50.  Scope should be 9X or less on the high end, fairly light and short (no target knobs).  I'm flexible on cost, but would prefer to keep it under $400.  Can anybody recommend something they've actually used?  I'm thinking Burris or Leupold.  Am I missing anything?  Must be parallax free at 50 yds, so no regular rifle scopes.  Thanks.

BTW, it has a adjustale objective, and would work great, and is within your limit at 269.95

I think Cory's recommendation is by far the best for your application.  Here are a few of the top .22 scopes.

Leupold Compact 3-9x33 A/O EFR.....$269.95

Burris Compact Rimfire 3-9x32 A/O.....$249.95

Kahles Rimfire  2-7x36.....$558.99

I have both the Burris 3-9X32PA and Leupold 3-9X33EFR.  I really prefer the Leupold by a large margin.  It has much better eye relief and seems much brighter.

Regards,

Rich

A friend of mine has a Leupold EFR 3-9 and it is optically a very good scope. Especially since the price has gone down - don't know if any changes were made in order to drop the price $50 - but if they are optically the same as the ones that used to sell for $320 , then that is a good deal.

My only gripes is no click adjustments and only available in gloss.
