I am just in the process of building a custom 10/22 and want some help as to what scope to put on it. I have a Leupold 3-9x33 AO on a .22 at present and was thinking of putting that on it and replacing it with something a bit cheaper, but have since thought about putting something better on the new gun. I have a swarvo 3-9 on my 7mm and like good glass ,but am not sure if it is warranted on a rimfire. I guess I am not sure if I need AO or not. I often see people putting higher power scopes on rimfires than centerfires, but maybe that is a good idea? I am also mindful that it has a bull barrle and will look kinda odd with a huge scope on it.
Any thoughts or help would be appreciated. |

Forgot to say, it is primarily for hunting to 100yds.

For hunting a Weaver RV7 2.5-7x28 rimfire scope is a good scope. If you like A/O then look for a Weaver RV9 3-9x32 AO rimfire.

Your Leupold's perfect, that's what I'd use. |

I have a Burris Rimfire scope 3-9X32 AO (the cheaper version of your Leupold 3-9x33 AO) on my 10/22 (Tac Sol barrel with Varq trigger group) and it works like a champ. On a 16' barrel 10/22 you don't want or need some HUGE ASS SCOPE. You said it was for " hunting to 100yds".
Use the Leupold on your rifle, you've already got it so why spend more money on some big monster scope.
