I will be rebarreling my Savage in the next month or so with the intention to start shooting long range (500-1000 yards).

I would prefer a scope with 100+ moa of internal adjustment.

My eyesight is not too good (mild case of keratoconus) and fatigues after prolonged scope use, so I I'm guessing in my case I should be looking for clarity over contrast, correct?

Now for the hard part.. my budget tops out at around $600.

It would seem that the perfect choice is the fixed Siii scopes.  I did find Koshkin's site and read his review of the 10x Siii scope which did raise some issues and points me too the $300 SS scopes but I'm concerned about the glass quality being up to snuff for prolonged long range use.  The SSHD scopes are simply too expensive (unless I get lucky with a sample list find).

If I do go with a fixed power, should I go 16x or 20x?  I don't believe 10x will cut it for me no matter how good the class is.  My concern with using a 20x fixed scope (SS or Siii) is the optical quality of the glass and to a lesser extent the mirage at long distance (I live in TX, hot summers).

I could just say the hell with it and just get a classic Vortex Viper and a 20 moa base.

What do you guys think?  Is there another line of scopes I am missing?

Thanks

If you are going to shoot F-class, you need an F-class scope.  Your budget does not include the higher end optics, so here are some suggestions:

SPL14803 Burris 8-32x44 Signature Select Rifle Scope DEMO-B Click to view
200868, Matte, Ballistic Mil-Dot, 1"
$429.95

SPL11698 Nikko Stirling 8-32x44 Targetmaster Riflescope DEMO-A Click to view
NT83244MD, Matte, Mil-Dot, 1"
$329.95

These are decent "beginner/starter" optics to see if this is what you truly want to pursue and if you do, save for a better scope.  Nightforce 12-42 comes to mind...
