That's a good point, Graham. I will take them both out tomorrow at dusk and compare.

I really like my patrol as well. Definitley not the best glass out there, but its decent and the illumination is fantastic.

Cheaptrick, I would like to hear how it turns out.

For those that have an idea what I am comparing to, how would any of these compare to a mid 80's Bushnell 3-9 that came on a savage rifle as a package?   Or a recent red field revenge?

Those are the only two scopes I have ever owned. The old Bushnell was better than the redfield revenge.

I never could get the redfield to focus well.

Both should absolutely smoke a mid -80s package Bushy.

smoke it!

That is the problem for me. I look through even cheap scopes and thing, "holy cow this is nice!". I really have low expectations. Some day I need to use a Nf or SB just to see what the hype is all about.

No no no no. ... once you cross the dark side your bank account will hate you. If you ever get alpha glass all others will just leave you wanting

Well the bank account already hates me for budgeting $800 for a scope.   I am family certain $2500 just won't happen.

I guess that I don't know where to go from here, because darned near everything I look through looks so good in comparison to what I have owned previously.

Oh, and I forgot, I do have a weaver kaspa 1.5-6 illuminated.   I like it, but it is way too bright to use in any serious darkness.

I would keep an eye on the sample list. You will get more for your dollar there.
