I recently put together an AR-10, with a DPS light weight 16" upper, and a POF lower that I plan to hunt with. Now I need a scope. Will I need a tactical grade or a will any quality hunting scope work? I'm concerned about the bolt slamming and vibrations damaging the scope. I'd like something with at least an 8x. I was considering the Leupold 2.5-8 tactical, or the Nightforce 2.5-10. I'd appreciate any advice or suggestions.

This way you have two systems go get on target one by dialing in the distance the other by using marks on the TMR FFP reticle which will remain accurate for hold over at any magnification power  Balistic reticles only work at the highest power no so with this scope.

The other option is to go to a ACOG Trijicon 4x  TAO1B

you are correct in assuming the bolt slamming is harder on scopes than recoil, but both scopes would work well, that is why leo labels them Dual-Purpose. the nf is quite a bet better scope however. another good option is the z6 1something to 10. Currently testing the z6 on a reciprocating spring operated bolt for durability. at 600 rds no complaints.

Nightforce is by far the toughest scope on the market since U.S. Optics is not currently available to the public @ large.(Smacks of Police State Doesn't it?)

Huh?  There's a waiting list but there's a waiting list for many products and it has nothing to do with a Police State.
