Currently have an original vortex crossfire on it. Thinking I want a fixed. What do y'all think of an SS 6x42 with a mil-quad? I don't like the crossfire. I zero this pup at 100 and want to be able to shoot jackrabbits out to 200. Also want to stay under $300. Any other options? Thanks.

EDIT: if I go with the SS, any recommendation for a 30mm ring system that works on the 11mm CZ grooves?

I played "musical scopes" with my .22mag for quite a while and settled on a 6x40.  It's just a Simmons MS ProHunter I bought when that line was first introduced.  It survived quite a few rounds on a l/w .300 magnum but I haven't recommend them for a long time.
As far as the SS scope your asking about I have no experiences with it but have read GOOD reports on it.  Hopefully "Urimaginaryfrnd" (Wes) will weigh in.  He LUVS that scope configuration.  Maybe PM him if he doesn't.

I just put a fixed 6X on a dedicated 308 subsonic gun, so far I'm thinking it may be the best fit yet.  There are several good 6X's out there, the SS will be the best if you plan on doing a lot of knob turning.

I have a Burris FFII 3-9 on my 17 HMR and shoot gophers and pds out at 250 yards at times.  Also have a Weaver rimfire 2-7 on my 22LR.  I like both scopes. It is nice having the variable for distance, but if I had to settle, I would probably go with a 6x.  The SS is a nice scope.  Not sure what to say about the rings though.

I am sure there are others but this is the first one i came across on a quick search. 11mm Euro Grooved Receiver http://swfa.com/Millett-22-Caliber-Scope-30mm-Rings-P9439.aspx
Talley also had some but they were only in 1" rings.

Thanks guys.  SVT, how does the glass of the PF compare to the SS (I believe I know the answer).  My other thought on this is if I like the scope enough, I could swap the SS 6x to my .338 Federal BLR and put the nikon 2-7x Monarch on the CZ.

Pride Fowler scopes are pretty respectable mid-range Japanese scopes.

As far as glass quality goes, it is difficult do an apples-to-apples comparison since the objective lenses are different size and one is fixed and another is variable.

The 3-9x32 is a nice little scope and if I had a 22WMR rifle, it would be at or near the top of my list.

Great.  Thanks guys.  That pretty much makes up my mind.  Now I've got to find the time to drive to Red Oak.
