Scope is for a single shot Encore .375 H&H barrel likely use is North American game not much chance it will get to make an African hunt but could be used in Bear country while hunting Elk etc.

Burris Signature glass is nice and their scopes are very rugged. Too bad about the ugly white "signature".

I recently put a Nikon Monarch fixed 4x scope on my Remington 700 .375 H&H.   I love it.  Plus, I like knowing that the scope on that monster is about as simple as it gets.  (I like to shoot the 300 grain solids)

Well, since you are not going to Africa and shooting charging game, you can forego the one power and use the 6 power on the Sightron SII, as well as the superior optics and low light capabilities.  Also, as far as cost is concernced, you will save alot of money you can put into good mounts and rings to hold the scope in, with all that power.  For me, this is a simple choice.

Fixed 4X with heavy duplex and double dovetail mounts would be a good combo and not overwhelm the rifle.

Burris Signature Safary 1.75-5x32.

Rugged scope with good glass and long eye relief.  Also, the reticle selection is conducive to low light.
