Having a 22-250AI built w/1:8 twist to shoot up to 80grs out to 750-800 yards.  Gun will be 90% paper puncher up to 600 yards off bipod and the rest varmit shooting.  I like lots of magnification when shooting paper and quick/simple hold overs on long range varmits, have considered these:

Minox ZA5 6-30x56
Bushnell Elite 4200 6-24- (on sale)
Sightron III 8-32x56

Im open to any suggestions and was trying to stay under $1,000.  Im afraid with the 56mm objectives I will have to have a cheek piece installed which will be another $100 and then Im only $200-$300 more away from a Nightforce BR.  This will be my first upper level scope, right now Ive got a Viper and weaver T36 that both do good jobs.  I would like a mil/mil sfp just to learn mils and speak in mils terms and dont really need ranging capabilities (purchased a nice Leica RF). Thank you in advance.

I am not meaning to sterr you away from either of these three but it soulds like you want a NF over these three so why not save the 300 you talked about and get what you want.

Of the three you mentioned I will only suggest the one ILya has commented on and thats the Sightron III

I can't comment on any of these because I don't own them.  A friend of mine has a Sightron Mil-Dot for tactical type shooting and he really emjoys it.

Since it's 90% paper punching I would consider a Leupold because they have several options with the knobs.  Some like Leupold, other don't but one place where they have been excellent in my experience is their WIND/ELE adjustments, always on the money.

Another friend of mine has a REM 700 in 22-250 with a Kreiger 1-7.7 twist and it shoots those 80 SMK out to 1000 yds with very good efficiency.

Good luck with the project...

These are not out yet but withing a couple of months it will be.  Other than this the Sightron SIII would be a reasonable choice. I think you can write off the Bushnell since it probably doesnt have much internal adjustment likely 50 moa or so.  Consider Zeiss also and if you can afford Nightforce then that would probably be the right choice. When you get onto magnification over 20x glass quality is very important otherwise you might as well coat the glass with vaseline

Good analogy with the vasoline.  That's a wicked looking scope there...
