I am waiting for arival of my volquartsen custom .17. I want to scope it for paper punching,and one shot squirrles,vermin,etc. (they smart around these parts) so I must be fast, or long range. So I would like to shoot 30yds to 200yds. staying around the general price of the LEU 6.5-20 X40 EFR target, VX-III 4.5 - 14 x 40 long range mark4 4.5-14X40 finedup or mil dot burris blk. dia. 6-24x50 Mil or fine dup, FF2 w/balisticplex bushnell 4200 4-16 x 40

The Burris Ballistic Plex reticle was designed to work with just about any caliber and comes with detailed instructions and decals, that depict what the lines represent for different calibers, that you can stick on your rifle stock. Here is what the hold overs work out to be for .17 Hornady Magnum 17 grain Hornady VMax bullet moving at 2550 feet per second. As you can see it is very simple to shoot any where from 100 - 300 yards with this reticle. The Burris Ballistic Plex reticle is available in several scopes.
The BSA Sweet 17 line of scopes are made specifically for 17 caliber rifles. The BSA scopes utilize a bullet drop cam (located on the elevation adjustment) instead of a hold over |
