anyone know what size of caps for a z6 50mm? Butler creek i guess but any suggestions welcome. thanks in advance

that is perfect. thanks. i should have said Z6i but the illumination won't matter will it? how do you like the scope?

Yes on the objective cap but I'm not sure about the eye cap. I believe the z6i is shaped a little different just past the dioptric correction ring but the Butler Creek Multiflex Cap design is flexible so it might fit.
I have the z6 and love it. I almost pulled the trigger on a z6i but it was back ordered for months so I gave up. According to SONA the manufacturing process (I suspect the repair process too) is a little slow due to the lack of equipment (one machine) used in the building of the z6i scopes back in Austria.
