I have recently acquired a Schmidt Bender Vari "M" 2 1/2- 10 X 56 Scope and would like to know why the cross hair gets larger when the scope power is raised to 10? This is just the opposite of what I expected... Is there a site where I can determine the manufacture date of this scope? Thank you for any help.

I think that is a "First Focal Plane" reticle. 2nd focal plane reticles stay the same size no matter what power the scope is set to.

That's right and it's common on many European scopes. My Swarovski PH is first a focal plane reticle which I don't mind it at all.

"Swarovski PH is first a focal plane reticle"
Oops, that should read "Swarovski PH is a first focal plane reticle"
