I ordered a Savge model 25  walking varminter 223 the other day. It has not come in yet and I have not paid for it yet but I think I am have a post order stress out. Did I order a cheap toy gun or is it a good firearm and a excellent price? Should I reconsider a higher grade savage or winchester or remmy. Does anyone own or delt with a model 25 and have any comments on it?

They are not bad rifles at all. It will do what you need to do with it.

As long as it doesnt have mechanial problems and I can get it to shoots 3" or better at 200 yards I will be content. I was just looking for a light varmint/coyote gun. I did some research on it and it all was pretty postive. I just think I was have a "get what you pay for", "if it sounds too good to be true..." worry.

With Savage, you usually get "more" than what you paid for.

I am sure it is very good. But i ended up changing my mind and got the Savage 12FV. I know I will be happy with it. Bit bigger and heavier but eh.

I paid $250 for a brand new, from the factory (literally) with all accessories and goodies, for an Anschutz Super 54 M1413 Olympic smallbore position rifle.

At a certain level, price and quality tend to become a very confused issue. Check to see what that anschutz, even the 1965 model I bought at the factory, costs now.
