Looking for a scope for my muzzle loader. I am leaning towards a fixed power. I am thinking i want 6x. What are some good options. Right now the only one I know of is the weaver classics.

Leupold makes a couple of very nice fixed 6x scopes and Super Sniper makes a 6x with tactical knobs.  I think you would do well with a fixed 6x.  I would probably pick the heavy duplex FX3 Leupold.   I have owned this scope and really liked it but I did eventually trade up to a Zeiss 4.5-14 still I often miss having this scope it is very bright in low light and the reticle stands out nicely but is still fine enough to be precise at 200 yds so if you zero at 100 yds you should have 10 to 12 inches drop at 200 yds at 200 just hold a little over the top of the back.

That is a nice scope but I think it is a bit out of my price range right now. I would like to keep it around the 200 dollar mark.

I have had two vipers and love them. I had a crossfire two that worked well on my 17 hmr but how would the diamondback hold up on a muzzle loader. The one I have allows me to shoot smokeless powder. Shots in the 2200 fps range with 25o-300 grain bullets.

Not sure.  I've only used them on a 22 and a 3030 lever gun.  Good thing with vortex is that is lifetime transferable no BS warranty that will always take care of you.  They have one of the best warranty policies and best CS in the industry should you need it.  I think youd be fine honestly.

Talked with a local optics Dealer. He deals in Vortex and knows a lot about scopes said for the Savage he would put a 4-12 diamondback on it due to the fact that the savage can reach out farther than most other muzzle loaders. Any thoughts.
