There is a nice write up in the July Guns & Ammo on the Savage Edge rifles.  Good read and looks like it would be a great entry level sportsmans gun.   Anyone have experience with one?

Nope, I'd don't do entry level stuff any more. It did look very interesting though (I'd certainly look that way for a newcomer or "truck" type weapon). Savages are shooters...usually. Too bad it doesn't have the accu-trigger.

I'm curious as to why they did this, they already have the Stevens 200 rifle which is similar.  Maybe Remington is going to replace the 770 rifle with the new Edge rifle?

While the accu trigger is nice to have. The standard Savage Trigger is easily adjusted to be more than adequate.

Fat finger typing.

I looked at one the other day and it seemed like it would be a good starter rifle, but I would probably still opt for the Stevens 200.  It is only $20-50 dollars more and can be upgraded much easier.
