The difference is that the 20moa base is canted to give you extra elevation adjustment.

Exactamundo!!!

I almost always recommend going with a 20 MOA base. It's there if you need it!!

20 MOA base will give you an extra 20 inches at 100 yards or give you a greater ability to shoot very long distances. I have three Savage LE / Varmint type rifles and all three have 20MOA bases. If you intend to ever shoot anything past the 500 yard mark, in my book, you can't go wrong.

I have a Burris scope that ran out of adjustment at 100 yards on a 22 cal. rifle....I ended up putting a Leupold scope on the 22 and now  I'm going to use the Burris on a 223 bolt gun I just picked up....Hopefully the 20 moa rail will solve my problems.....JLT

If you have the same problem on the other rifle, you might want to contact Burris. I've had scopes do that in the past and had to give them a new home in the circular filing cabinet(cheapies). If the .22 cal is an older 10-22, you should check the barrel to receiver fit. With age, some of them will wallow out and cause the same problem.

The scope cost to much to round file it, but the thought crossed my mind....I called Burris and was told to give there rings with the inserts a try...I didn't have any trouble with the Leupold....The rifle is a CMP $225.00 training rifle, and boy can this rifle shoot....JLT

My only experiance with any thing like this was with a burris scope.I ran out of windage adjustment. But i purchased a set of burris signature rings with the different inserts and the problem was solved.
