Anyone try this combo?  Will likely be mounting a Bushnell 4200 3-9x40 or Vortex Viper 3-9x40.  Hoping to get away with low height but may need to go medium.

Thanks,
Mike

I've used the two piece (base and lower ring half is one, the upper ring half is the other) Talley's on several rifles. They have been fine. I'm quite sure the low will work for a 40 mm objective scope. Should make a fine set-up. Good luck.

Thank you.  I have them on my Rem 700 with a 40mm objective scope.  I was asking specifically for the Savage 220.  The 220 is a 20 gauge bolt action slug gun built on the 110 action.  In order to fit the larger shells they opened up the action to allow the shells to eject.  However, people have had issue with the shells hitting the scope and jamming with some mounts.  I was wondering if anyone has used the Talleys and had any issues.  I may just use the Dednuts as I've read there were not issues with those.

Thanks,
Mike

I'm aware that the 220 is a slug gun. I just figured they would work with a scope up to about 44mm. The DNZ are fine mounts also...have a set on a T-Bolt. Anyway, good luck to you Sir.

As you have experience with both, which do you generally prefer?
