Has anyone who owns this rifle have any problems with it? I have done a lot of reading up on it but my only concern now would be shipping for repairs (should there ever be a reason). I would have to ship it back to Finland from Canada. I usually would prefer a Browning/Winchester model. I don't want to doubt the quality but it has to be considered, feedback would be nice.

Generally, I can't imagine much going wrong with a Sako. Even the "lowlier" Tikka I own is so well-made. (In fact, it's my favorite rifle). You might check with the distributor for Canada on what their policy is. They may have an in-country repair facility or contract. Also, unless there's an out-and-out factory defect, there's always a local gunsmith.

I had an A7 in the 300 WM but found that the magazine was too short for bullets loaded to the max length for 300 WM which was a problem for me using reloaded ammo.  The A7 is produced in the other end of the same factory that builds the Tikka. I am convinced that the Tikka is an exceptional rifle and I absolutely love my Tikka in 300 WSM however nobody standing near by enjoys the noise.  my son has a Tikka in 30-06 that he loves.  I am sure that the A7 in a 30-06 would be an exceptionally good rifle and I would not hesitate to buy it in that caliber particularly if shooting factory ammo.

I really like my walnut stocked Sako 75 and am still aggravated for not jumping on it's twin that appeared used at a local gun store, because it was gone when I went back for a second look.

Having said that, there was a disparaging thread here at OT about Sako A7 synth stock issues.

I have 2 Sako 85's, which are sort of in between the Tikka T3 and the Sako A5 in design. In fact the A5 is almost like a 86. I can't imagine ever needing repairs for them. The design and quality and fit are well above my Savage and Winchester bolt actions.
Simple, strong, very few parts, and really well made.
I also considered buying an A5, but it was overpriced and not chambered in something i wanted.

+ one on what everyone else says. I own several SAKO's and Tikka's, never a problem or hiccup. I would not hesitate to get another, new or used.
