Thinking about getting a Sako 75 .30-06 and need a good mount set up for a 3-12x56 scope with a 30mm tube !!

This does not seem to be an easy task for the Sako 75 . I have used Leupold standard rings bases in the past and have a set on my Tikka T3 right now ..........but I can't come up with a number for these for a Sako 75 .  Sako says the Tikka bases won't work on a Sako or I would just take them off my Tikka !!

I am kind of scared to use the rings that fit diectly on the rail....seems like they could move to me ??? Seems like mounting a base and fitting the rings into it would be a more secure/safer set up ??

Any suggestions ?

I found some numbers for Burris Dual dovetails and some Talley set ups (but I am not fond of the way the Talley/Warne type rings look) !!

Well the gun is coming in with Optilock rings and bases but for a 1" tube scope. So I called Beretta and ordered some Optilock rings for a 30mm tube ! Hope these will work fine !!! Read mostly good on them........but some bad (mostly about the screw that come with them )!

Good luck with the Opti's.
They they are decent, albeit expensive mounts. $$$$$$
As you alluded to, the screws are way too soft, so be careful.
