Wow, hope that you are ok.  I would send the parts to Kimber with a note: strong letter to follow to your management!

weekend nobody hurt because the shooter was wearing shooting glasses, did get a little 38 super face however. mainly due to unsupported barrel, (no ramp). kimber doesn't make or carry the polymer frames anymore , I think they were made in Israel, and somebody else picked up the franchise or something. Don't blame kimber or the gun, they were reloads, and not the first gun I've had let go. This one was a Gold Target something or other and very accurate for an IDPA gun,. would a metal frame held up any better, or an STI who knows?? Now if I can just find the magazine spring.

Glad the shooter was okay. I have seen a  few frames craked on different models but none that bad. Most were found during a cleaning and not during shooting.

yea, usually found on disassembly, two latest ones were a Para ordinance, tore the frame rails completely off, (alloy frame) and a cracked frame at the under lug on an alloy Springfield Champion. But this last one woke me right up!!

Glad you are OK.  Thanks again for the reminder, safety is no accident and you only get one set of eyes.

I have seen a few of the top name brands crack but it is mostly the so called throw away guns that it happens to mostly. If I have one in the shop I'll not put it back together and give it back to them in a back or box just to CMA. Some people understaind but some don't and want to argue even after I show them where it is cracked and tell them what can happen if they shoot it.  some people are amazingly stupid.
