Looks ugly to me. I'd rather look at Colt or Browning. Just my opinion.
When you are dead, you don't know you are dead.It is difficult only for others.

It is the same when you are stupid.

I had one.  It worked well and exhibited the typical accuracy and reliability of a 10-22.  It is as close to an AR 15 clone as Ruger can make out of an existing rimfire product.  I sold mine and bough a Colt M4 clone .22 made by Walther because it more nearly duplicates the function and handling of an AR 15.  Smith & Wesson also makes a nice clone with polymer receivers so the Colt more nearly duplicates the weight and feel of a center fire AR if you plan to use it for training.  Whichever one you get you will enjoy shooting it if you like ARs.

Sp, I bought one for my son for Christmas last yr. nice, well-made little pistol. Looks and feels very similar to a Walther P-22, only slightly smaller.
Only concern I have had  is the safety so close to the thumb, I could see where it might get snicked to the fire position by accident.
It has fed flawlessly every type of ammo I have fed it with one exception- that is Winchester White Box that comes 333 rds to the box. It jams every couple of rds - I don't know if the cartridge is slightly underpowered, or, if the pistol just needs a few more rds thru it to loosen it up. We keep CCI minimags in it for protection.
I have a P22 and this SR22, and have no complaints with either. When my Daughter turns 16, she will have the same choice between the two that my Son had. I have no problem going either way.
Hope this helps,
Derek

Here is a list of the ammo we have tried in it:
Win White Box 333rds  ---- Failure to feed
Federal lightning
Federal Gold Medal Match
Winchester Wildcat
Winchester M-22
Winchester Super X
Remington 225 count
CCI MiniMags
CCI Stingers
CCI high velocity ( standard ammo )
