I'm putting a 30mm tube scope w/ a 44mm objective on my ruger. Right now I have a 40mm scope and the standard ruger rings on it, I'll most likely have to get high rings but is there a better option then ruger rings. I don't want to put a rail & rings on but if so. Anyones help would be great. Thanks

I have a set of 30mm Warnes on a Ruger #1 and I like them a lot. They look good and they are well made.

The Burris Ruger rings are exceptional.  They tighten from both sides so they are windage adjustable and the area that tightens is machined smooth to the ring so you don't have that monstrous screw hanging out like the original.  They are also smoother and more round than the factory rings.  The top 5 worst rings marks I have ever witnessed were all from Ruger factory rings.  They're famous for leaving a raised lip at the edge of the ring that I've seen dent tubes.  No doubt many here will add they've never had a problem with factory Ruger rings and I'm sure the majority don't.
