Would appreciate any comments from owners of the Ruger M77 Frontier Mk11, W/ 16.5" barrels, regarding your scout scope choices (mounted forward of the action on the barrel).................Already have a scope mounted conventionally over the receiver. I`m looking to buy a scout scope too!...........Does anyone out there have any experience, (using as a scout scope), with the Nikon Monarch, UCC, EER, in the 2.5x8 variable?................I`ve read great articles on this particular scope, which can also be used for handguns! However, I`m open to all suggestions from scout scope owners mounted on Rugers or otherwise!..............

I purchased a Frontier in .308 with a Leupold IER scope last fall for hunting whitetail in the Ontario bush. It has been an excellent purchase, easily able to hold 1" groups at 50yds kneeling.

.........................Epee!...............If I`m not mistaken, I originally started this thread almost 11 months ago as "guest" before I officially joined this O.T.  forum!...........A Ruger Frontier .308 owner uh??? Like that little compact?? Like that quick handling and fast target acquisition? A great choice for the brush & not only for the whitetails, but for the black bears, elk and maybe a moose too!..................Well! I have the same shorty Frontier rifle as you, but chambered in the 300 WSM! Some guys here own the regular Ruger compacts, but it`s sure good to know that now I am not the only one around here that owns the Ruger Frontier!..................Your choice of scope is a good one with the Leupy scout!. I use two scopes; an Elite 4200 3x9 over the action and a Nikon Monarch 2.5-8x28 as the scout! I switch them here and there as needed!....................With our shorty rifles and barrels, we are in the vast minority around here!Roll%20on%20Floor%20Laughing If these guys start razzin you about your short barreled rifle, Crutchcalling it a short barreled pea shooter, that is only a 100 to 200 yard deer rifle and that you are losing gobs and gobs of velocity due to the short barrel; don`t worry,,, Squeezer will come to your rescue! Tank,,,,,,,Tank,,,Laugh...........Welcome to the O.T....................PS.....Do you by chance have a chronograph??
