wanted one of these because of the variable gas system, been trying to settle on optics. tried various mount hts, with different size scopes and variable ranges. shot for break in today with some. The folding stock has a much lower cheek line than it appears, and some slight heads up are needed for the iron flip ups, which work very well by the way. Almost impossible to use some type of variable--get good cheek weld, and retain the iron sites. But it would seem that if a gun and site go together its the Eo and the XCR. so next stop the can store and a new grip. forgot, for those who co-witness is a big plus, one can't ask for better. (still fold the sites down for those of us who don't like co-witness)

Nice stick, Dale. Looks light weight too.

Which model is your Eotech?

Eo is a 512 I believe. carbine weighs 7.5 lbs same as standard carbines in traditional ar. the bolt is and bolt carrier weighs almost 2 times a much making  the cycle rate appear to recoil less -- if a 223 can kick. the bolt carrier is much more like an ak and touches the front of the gas port. the charging handle is the small round knob. lower is not as tall as ar and the thumb safety is easier to manuver.

started load work up with 14 " wet news paper penetration to test a shorter barrel velocities and substitute load for 55 gr.---65 gr ww SP, 55 FMJ , 147 gr hornady XTP and 55 fmj

forgot both 65 gr. and 9 mm went to 10-11 inch and 55 gr was around 7 in with a channel about the width the length of the 55.
