I need some help, I have a Remington 700 LSS Mountain 30.06. I want to keep the weight down, mounting a Luepold VXIII 3.5-10 I like the Talley one piece but I like the durability of a picatinney rail and tactical mounts. Any thoughts

TPS makes great gear.
I own two sets of the TSR's and they are perfect.

I'm well Sir, and you??

Ron, I'm going through this whole "sock puppet" thing.  Hammer
Not sure what it's all about, Ron.

Playing with all that fire was making me pee the bed at night.  Embarrased

Good to see you back around. Now if we can just keep ya here for a while, we'd be doing great.

I appreciate Cheaptrick and TPS_Phil's opinions on tactical rings. No doubt the TPS are fine units as stated her at O.T., a lot.
I personally do not like the look of robust tactical mounts on my trim hunting rifles. I also prefer not to have a one piece base over the receiver opening. I use the Talley steel mounts in both QD and permanent models. They are very strong, light, and look very good in my opinion. The quality of Talley rings are the best of any I have seen in hunting mounts and rings.
This is a Remington M700 KS Mountain with Talley's and a 2.2-9x42 Kahles C.

I agree with Tahqua completely on this subject.  Tactical mounts and rings on a hunting rig takes away the slick look of a bolt action hunting rifle.  Talley makes great stuff and Wby. uses it if requested from the factory.  My preference is Warne mounts and QD rings.  A little less expensive than the Talley setups, I believe just as robust, but in the end it is a personal preference.  I love the Talley lightweight one piece mounts and rings and are more than strong enough for your uses.  By the way Tahqua, nice looking rig.

Thank you, D. Warnes are also well made. These are on a Ruger #1 big bore with another Kahles.
