I have Leupold mark 4 rings on three rifles:

Rem 700 PSS with XOTIC scope - Leupold Mark 4 High rings

Bushmaster Varminter with SS10x42M - Leupold Mark 4 Ultra High(AR) rings

Rem 700 VSF  Leupold Vari-x III 6.5-20 LR/T - Leupold Mark 4 Medium rings (with IOR 30mm to 1" shims to

   stepdown to 1" tube) - 1" mark 4's were backordered..... couldn't wait.....

I have had experience with cheaper rings like weaver, Leupold standard, and other wally world specials, and have

found that the Mark 4's are easily the best (also by far the most expensive of the above)

I have also seen GG&G aluminum rings used on a tactical savage with great success and they are substantially

cheaper from what I can remember.

Point of all this being is that I have had great success with Leupold Mark 4 rings and would highly recommend them, especially for a tactical rifle like yours.  They look great and haven't budged on any of the rifles I have them on, I purposely carried my AR around by the SS10x42m on several hunts just to see if the setup would hold it's zero- it did, It was the only set of rings out of 3 that have been on that gun that did.  To me, that speaks volumes.

Here is some pics of the my set-ups, both the Rem's have IOR tactical one piece bases.  I'm not very good with the digital camera so the quality of these pics isn't great.

Thanks,

I was a bit skeptical of the IOR's when I first recieved them because of the packaging, But when I laid them on the recievers to see if they fit I was impressed, they were a perfect fit from what I could tell,  When I torqued them down they laid perfectly flat on the reciever as well.

I have had no problems with them and they seem to be a quality piece.  The full length piccanty also gives them the tactical look that I have come to love so much....
