I think I just bought the wrong size Badger rings...
(I don't have the rifle now. It's out for a dura coat on the action)
Here's the optics setup: Rifle: Savage 10 FCP (308 short action) Scope: Leupold Mk 4 4.5-14 50mm Base: Badger P/N 30606 for Savage 10 w/ accu-trigger Rings: Badger P/N 30621 med. high
By using the great instructions posted by Chris Farris, it seems as if I could go lower with the Badger medium rings. And by my calculations, perhaps even the standard rings (with approx. .10 clearance)!
I'd like to get the scope mounted with minimal excess clearance, so I can achieve a better cheek weld.
Can someone settle the matter? Can I go with standard, with mediums -- or stay with the med. high rings??
Thanks!
