I know there is a separate section for this, but doesn't seem to be much traffic there.  Any suggestions on rings/bases for Rem Mod 700 LTR in .308?  Currently have Leupold rings/bases.  Something stronger out there?  Haven't had any problems, but don't see much discussion on this topic.

I recommend Warne mounts and rings.  I have used them on most of my rifles to include high power Wby mags (340, 30-378 and 300) without any problem.  Strong as they come.  A little tedious to mount, but not that bad.  My second choice, would be the one piece Talley mounts, which for this caliber, would be great.  Easy to mount and very tough.  Hope this helps.

If you're looking for a "stronger" ring/base combo, the Badger Ordinance, TPS, Leupold MK IV tactical style rings with Picatinney bases are wider, thicker, and use stronger screws.  However, for general hunting, anyones base & ring combinations will be plenty strong enough, unless you regularly make a habit of dropping your rifle and banging it against objects.

The Warne mounts & rings Dolphin mentions, as well as Talley, Conetrol, and S&K are all well-made designs that balance strength with sleek looks.  There is no rifle in existence with more mount base options available than the Rem 700, so you have no lack of choices!

Burris double dovetail signatures are holding up after many rounds in my 400H&H
S&Ks are beautiful and also no problem on my 300 H&Hs and 375 H&H ( an improved conetrol copy)
Brownells has both at discount
