Sorry slipped my mind on the other thread.

I have some Leupold 2 piece bases and rings are they ok? Is there something better?

I am going with the 2.5-10x40mm Elite 4200.

Its going on the A-bolt 7mm mag and Its also a lefty.

Someone told me once solid base's are better?

Can I mount this scope in low rings?

Thanks again

Your bases are fine, I would like to recommend better rings. Burris signature rings

are a very inexpensive way to solve many problems that can occur during mounting

and will preserve the value of your scope. Ring hight I could not tell you without bieng

there to take measurments. The use of the posi alighn insert kit along with the rings

will most likely allow you to use the low rings and maybee even zero your rifle.

You do not mention what Leupold bases and rings you have, I assume they fit your rifle.  I personally do not like dove tail rings and mounts, as they put torque on the scope.  But, alot of people use them without problems.  So, if they fit your rifle, they should be fine.  I prefer, Warne bases and rings.  They are solid, well built and can take any kind of punishment.  The Talley one piece mounts and rings are also very good and easy to set-up.  As far as low mount rings with your scope, it is going to be close.  Your scope does not have an AO so it may fit with low rings.  In these cases, if I am buying on line, I get both sizes, low and medium, because somewhere down the line, I will use the other set of rings, or you can send them back.  If you are buying locally, you can simply take your gun in and see what you need.
