Sifting through the mounds of information and different types of mounts and rings out there is semi-boggling at times.  I'm coming to you for some help!

I recently picked up an M1A with the ARMS #18 picatinny mount as one of my "back from deployment presents"   and also now have a Bushnell 4200 tactical (6-24 x 50mm) on the way (30mm tube).  I haven't measured for sure, but I know the ARMS mount is up off the handguard by probably by 3/16" or maybe 1/4".  The top of the ARMS mount is about flush with the top of the rear sight aperature... but shouldn't be any problem.

Total objective diameter = 60.07mm

Total ocular diameter     = 40.64mm

What do you guys recommend I get for rings?  Anything out there that will still allow me to use open sights?  I do not require "quick disconnect" capability, but it would be a plus.

Thanks!

PS  I have the Vltor modstock, which has the height adjustable buttstock.  Gives me about an extra 1/2" or so of room to play with.
