hey i have a question. i have always wanted to put bigger rings on my scope, the ones with 6 screws. i just got a new scope off sample list, a kahles helia c 3x12x56. i had a kahles helia c 2.5x10x50.

i will have to get new rings now, the high ones, i guess. it will be going on a weatherby mark V accumark 300 mag. i am left handed.

it looks like if i want rings with 6 screws, i will have to get a new base as well. it looks like it will have to be a picatinny style.

because i am left handed, should i  get a 2 piece base. i am kind of clueless about this topic. any suggestions on what will work best for my setup ?

The link below will take you to a post by Chris Farris that has all the information you need to determine ring/base height for a particular scope:

EGW makes a rail for your Weatherby and I see no need to get a two piece, but you can get a two piece mount if you want.  Depends on your taste, I guess.  Functionally, a one-piece is fine if it is made for your rifle.

thanks, the reason i was asking about a 2 piece was because i am left handed.
it seems like everyone i have seen, has a notch cut out on the side for a right handed
shooter.
