Could anyone here confirm that this base

Will work well with the Leupold PRW type rings?

What are the other options for steel rings that will work with this base in the $30-50 range?

The PRW rings are weaver style not picatinny, but they will fit that style of base.  The difference is the post/bolt that goes through the weaver style rings is smaller than the picatinny style base notches.  So they will fit they will just have some slop forward and backward before you tighten them down.  Which means it is possible to not have a perfect fit and you could mount a ring slightly twisted.  Which in turn could put added stress on your scope tube, which is never good to put any stress on the scope tube.  If you want some that fit tight, Burris has some really nice quality rings for a good price.  These rings from burris are great rings for the money.  http://www.swfa.com/c-1228-burris-xtreme-tactical-1-rings.aspx

Good advise.
The Burris XTR is well thought of here and abroad.

If they didn't have both "Xtreme" and "tactical" in the name it sure would be nice.

It makes it sound cool though.  I mean why would you want anything else when you could have "Extreme Tactical Rings"Head%20Bang

Sorry but you spelled it wrong.  It is "Xtreme"

The "X" makes it Xtra Xtreme.  To the max. Totally!Loco

So the only Leupold option is the Mark 4?

Any other budget level M1913 rings in 1 inch?

I looked and the Weaver is .026" slimmer than the M1913.  Is this really a big deal?  I remember my one piece armalite mount has some movement front to back on my Bushmaster.  I just slide it to the rear and screwed it down.

No, like I said it will fit, just not as tight as a 1913 ring.
