Only twice was I puckering significantly while hunting in South Africa, one involved a very large male lion, and one involved a rhino mom and her offspring.

They are protective, to say the least, and quite dangerous.

We where also chased by a mother rhino once, they baby kept coming closer to have  look at us. The mother kept pushing him away, but like a normal child he didn't listen. So she decided it would easier to get rid of us. As we where trying to drive away the baby came running after us, well Mom just had enough no fear ar all. Luckily the driver was paying attenion, my sister inlaw was sitting at the back off the game view vehicle. She was screamin and started climbing over the people in front off her, she almost threw my Dad off the vehicle.

This kid is all right in my book.

YouTube won't allow embedding of this video, but it is REALLY worth a look.
