little suprized someone hasn't said the recticle still needs to be centered after "clamping" down

so a poll (the answer is a small wooden box on my desk)

so then why would USO recommend this type of centering ???

Even if some one had been changing the windage/elevation knobs why would that matter if you're going to use a bore sighter after mounting.  You would be adjusting to centre on the grid anyway.

My son removed media player from my computer guys. What do they basically say is their recommended way? Has anyone tried putting the scope objective end down on a mirror and adjusting till the superimposed reticle is on top the main  reticle? This method seems to work well and fast and does a good job of centering for windage and elevation in my opinion.

I have recommended in previous posts in performing this procedure prior to mounting all scopes, albeit using a simple accurately v-shaped cut out on two sides of a small cardboard box to rotate the scope, so as not to scratch it, as opposed to in the rings.  You will be suprised how many scopes are not centered out of the factory and I mean the good mid-priced scopes, since I do not buy the nose bleeders.
