Looking for a scope for my Tikka 243. Want something in the 4-12 range with resettable zeros

I want to be able to zero with 95 gr partitions and set zeros there. The resight with an 80 gr varmint bullet. Whenever I wanted to game hunt, dial back to zero and chamber a partition round

Scope need to be:
1. 40 mm obj. or less
2. Not longer than a football field - remember the first Bushnell 4200s
3. Lighter than the rifle.

Most of my hunting rifles have Leupold VX-3. 2.5-8 x 36. Just to set the tone of a scope I like

Am thinking about a Vortex Viper? I just have not been able to find on locally to handle. Any other thoughts?

In my opinion go with the Vortex Viper 4-12x40.
The Vortex has superior clarity, and the use of the side focus allows you to clarify your objective with ease.
The turretts are clearly marked, clicks are real clean and audible. Therefore it is going to be easy to keep track of your adjustments.
This scope also tracks true if you wanted to do a track test, it tracks very well!
It's lightweight and the chassis is very robust as well.

you can do that with any scope, sight in for your most used round, take of the turret cover  put a "nick" (some scopes such as leos have rotatable markers) with a triangular file or majic marker, resite for the partitiion, make a different color mark. thats a lot of effort however for a 243 which will have a drop of about 6-8 moa out to 500 yds, with a 200 or 300 yd, zero you would be good for anything from 0 to 500 about the size of a small coyote.
